Summer’s Heating Up

Simpson Lumber Shelton, WA June 2015

Corporate Headquarters

June has been an exceptional month for us here at North Woods Productions, and July is looking to be even better. We recently finished shooting a tribute video for Simpson Lumber and their employees, as this 125-year-old Northwest icon close their doors for the final time this month. While it pains us to see such a reputable local business end their operations, we had an incredible (and emotional) time getting to know their employees and sharing the story of the fifth-largest lumber company in the country.

We’ve also wrapped up some of our post-production on a video we shot for the Korean Women’s Association. The KWA is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing social services to those in need, regardless of race or ethnic background. Their small, grass-roots effort, which began in 1979, has evolved into one of the largest social service agencies in the entire state. We truly commend the efforts that these women have put into the state and helping those in need.

This last month we were also honored for the second year in a row with a Telly Award. The Telly Awards highlight some of the best Commercial, Online, and General Films/Videos in the country. We feel extremely humbled to be mentioned with amazing production companies and channels such as Disney, Discovery, and NBC.

United Way

United Way of Kitsap County

Speaking of Telly Awards, July will mark the sixth straight year that we’ve collaborated with United Way of Kitsap County to create their fundraising PSA (our 2014 work for United Way’s Campaign was recognized with the award). We’re extremely proud of the work we’ve been able to do for them, as well as the work they do for the community. United Way works with dozens of other non-profits in the area to help families and individuals in times of crisis and need.

SSHGA June 2015

July 24-26, we invite everyone to join us as we cover the 69th-Annual Pacific Northwest Scottish Highland Games and Clan Gathering at the Enumclaw Event Center. The event is one of the largest of its kind, attracting over 30,000 spectators as they enjoy authentic Scottish cuisine and entertainment. Witness feats of strength as athletes compete in events like the “Stone Put”, “Caber Toss”, and “Hammer Throw”. This will mark the sixth year that we’ve worked with the SSHGA, creating a number of highlight videos featured on local news channels and KING5’s Evening Magazine. This event is sure to provide entertainment for the entire family.

We’ve had a phenomenal first half to 2015 and plan to carry that momentum through the rest of the year. In closing, we like to take a moment to thank all our wonderful clients for helping to make North Woods Productions such a success!
