SEATTLE –On September 24, 2015, a vintage Ride the Ducks of Seattle vehicle suffered mechanical failure and collided with a tour bus on Seattle’s Aurora Avenue Bridge. Four international students from North Seattle Community College lost their lives and many others were seriously injured.  Atlanta based CNN enlisted the services of North Woods Productions to capture details of the crash and provide the live satellite feed from Seattle for the network, with senior CNN reporter Dylan Byers.

“It was a grim, somber assignment for us and a tragic event for the city of Seattle.” North Woods owner and videographer Ron Finney recalls, “This was not a typical assignment for us or for Mr. Byers, who is renowned for his political and media reporting.”

Collaborating with Dylan and the satellite truck crew through the day long coverage was a physically and emotionally demanding experience, but also rewarding for Finney. “From the medics and law enforcement, to the media personnel, and restaurant owners who provided food and drinks to personnel stuck on the bridge for many hours, it was moving to see everyone serving together under such difficult circumstances. ”
